Fifth-seeded Richard Stockton College will play second-seeded Montclair State University in the opening round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference softball tournament Tuesday.

The Ospreys (21-13) will play at Montclair (33-14) at 4 p.m.

The winner of Tuesday’s game will play Friday against the winner of Rowan (30-9) and Kean (29-9). Friday’s game will be played at 3 p.m. at top-seeded William Paterson University.

The tournament has a double-elimination format.

Montclair State is the defending champion. Rowan won the title from 2010-12.

The Ospreys have never won the NJAC tournament, which was first held in 1983.

The Stockton baseball and women’s lacrosse teams failed to qualify for their respective NJAC tournaments.
