Why this game is special: These teams played for the first time ever last season and St. Augustine won 41-40 in overtime to clinch the Cape-Atlantic League National Conference title. St. Augustine will win the conference with a win Thursday. If Cedar Creek wins, the Pirates, St. Augustine and Bridgeton will share the title.

Cedar Creek update: The Pirates lost to Camden 48-0 in the first round of the South Jersey Group II playoffs. Sophomore Ahmir Mitchell excels at defensive back, running back and wide receiver for the Pirates.

St. Augustine Prep update: The Hermits took another step forward in coach Mark Reardon's second season with their first playoff win since 2008. St. Augustine beat St. Joseph Metuchen 45-28 in the state Non-Public V quarterfinals and then lost to St. Peter's Prep 34-0 in the semifinals. Quarterback Jose Tabora (2,035 passing yards), running back Lamont Harris (1,685 rushing yards) and wide receiver Austin Francisco (1,049 receiving yards) spark the Hermits.
