Second in a series of snapshots of new members of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Name: James Casey

Position: Tight end (No.85)

Height/weight: 6-3, 240 Age: 28

How acquired: Free agency

Expected role: Coach Chip Kelly kept Casey under wraps during the preseason, but he's expected to play a major role in the offense, starting in next Monday's regular-season opener at Washington. The former professional baseball player - he was a pitcher in the Chicago White Sox organization - caught a career-high 34 passes for 330 yards and three touchdowns for Houston last season. Look for him to improve on those totals this season.

Tomorrow: Punter Donnie Jones
