Defending champ Cody Dazen of St. Augustine Prep leads a group of local favorites. Middle Township's David Hicks and Vineland's Eric Dargis finished second and fourth, respectively, last season and return this year. Ocean City junior Dom DiGiacomo finished second at the Arena tournament on Thursday and will look for his third top five this season.

The top teams from New Jersey and Pennsylvania meet in the crew season's second of five championship regattas. The one-day regatta has 48 categories. Area boys varsity eights are St. Augustine Prep, Absegami, Atlantic City and Holy Spirit. Girls varsity eights are Holy Spirit, Absegami, Atlantic City and Ocean City.

This is a rematch of last season's South Jersey Group III title game, which Hammonton won. Hammonton comes into tonight's game with losses to St. Augustine Prep and Atlantic City this week.Ocean City has won eight straight. The Red Raiders need a win to stay in contention for an at-large bid to the Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic.

No. 11 Buena Regional (15-2)

at Vineland (11-3)

7 p.m. Saturday

These teams are both in the midst of standout seasons and this will be their second meeting this week. Buena beat Vineland 4-1 last Sunday. Don Money sparks the Vineland offense. He had two hits against Buena last Sunday. Buena will look for another big game from Jarred Corniell, who was 2-for-4 with two RBIs against Vineland.
