Three local track and field athletes earned the top seed in their respective events at today's high school Meet of Champions.

Bridgeton High School's Braheme Days, Pleasantville's Jacob Clark and Buena Regional's Andrea Olsen each won state Group II titles last week. The Meet of Champions begins at 3 p.m. at Frank Jost Field in South Plainfield.

Days is the top seed in the shot put and discus. He set Group II state meet records last week, throwing the shot put 64 feet, 7¾ inches and the discus 196-2.

Despite his illustrious career, Days has never won an outdoor MOC title.

A knee injury forced Days to miss last year's meet. He placed second in the discus as a sophomore.

Clark is the top seed in the 1,600-meter run. He ran the state Group II race in a meet record 4 minutes, 13.85 seconds.

Clark and his twin brother, Isaac, were part of the 4x800 team that won the Championship of America race at the Penn Relays in April.

Olsen's outstanding senior season culminates today. She is seeded no worse than eighth in four events.

Olsen is the top seed in the 400 hurdles. She won the Group II race in a meet record 1:00.58. Olsen will also compete as the fifth seed in the 400, seventh seed in the 200 and eighth seed in the 100 hurdles.

The boys 800 features three local runners in the top eight. Isaac Clark is the fifth seed, Jacob Clark sixth and Vineland's Leaquan James Jr. seventh.

Isaac Clark is the seventh seed in the 400 as well.

The Egg Harbor Township boys won the South Jersey Group IV title and placed third in the state group meet. The Eagles send multiple athletes to the MOC.

Steven Morgan is the second seed in the 110 high hurdles. James Plummer is seeded third in the discus and fifth in the shot put.

Kofi Yamoah, who won the Group IV shot put, is the fourth seed.

Among other athletes to watch are Buena's Rayshawn Scott in the long jump, Oakcrest's Dan Jefferson in the high jump, Atlantic City's Mone't Gist in the triple jump and Millville's Ashli Weems in the discus.
