The Tri-Cape softball team was eliminated from the Carpenter Cup Classic after splitting two games Wednesday at FDR Park in Philadelphia.

The Tri-Cape team is made up of high school players from the Tri-County Conference and the Cape-Atlantic League. The tournament was double-elimination, and this was Tri-Cape's second loss.

In Wednesday's first game, Buena Regional's Brittany Scott allowed two runs in five innings, striking out six, as Tri-Cape defeated Delaware South 8-3.

Scott also had two hits in that game, scoring a run and knocking in another. Melissa Mackey had a two-run single in the first inning and also scored a run.

Tri-Cape lost the second game 3-1 to Lehigh.
