Boys soccer

Absegami (4-3-1) at No. 7 St. Augustine Prep (5-1)

4 p.m. today

The defending Cape-Atlantic League American Conference Braves and St. Augustine each look to bounce back from tough losses on Wednesday. Absegami fell 2-1 to Egg Harbor Township. The Prep, No. 7 in The Press Elite 11, lost its first game of the season, 1-0, to Bensalem (Pa.).

Girls soccer

Lower Cape May Regional (6-2) at Cedar Creek (4-2)

4 p.m. Monday

Two of the top teams in the Cape-Atlantic League National Conference square off. Lower Cape May lost its first two games of the season but has won six in a row since. Madie Gibson and Temple University-bound Gabriella McKeown are the top scoring duo in the CAL. Cedar Creek goalkeeper Carly Friedman had 13 saves in the team's 1-0 loss to Egg Harbor Township on Monday.

Field hockey

No. 6 Ocean City (4-1)

at No. 9 Egg Harbor Township (5-0)

4 p.m. Monday

EHT is the only team in the Cape-Atlantic League American Conference without a conference loss. Egg Harbor Township features Mackenzie Meyer, Morgan Snodgrass, Lauren Angello and goalie Brianna Magner. Ocean City, which is trying to win its 17th straight American Conference title, has Kelly Hanna, Leah Davies, April Stein and freshman Julia Herrington.

Cross country

The South Jersey Shootout

8:30 a.m. Saturday at Gloucester County College

This meet features a unique format. There will be three varsity boys and three varsity girls races. Runners will compete against competitors of similar ability. One race will be for the No. 5, 6 and 7 runners on a team. The second race will for the No. 3 and 4 runners on the team. The final race - dubbed the "stud's race" - will be for a team's No. 1 and 2 runners. Hammonton, Millville and Ocean City are among the Cape-Atlantic League teams scheduled to compete.
