District 3/Cumberland beat previously undefeated Connecticut 11-1 in the Big League Regional Tournament on Monday in Delaware, earning a spot in the winners-bracket final today.
The local team will play New York at 3 p.m. today.
Little League 10-11 baseball
Mike Oliveras struck out eight in four innings to earn the win as Hammonton beat Lin-wood 13-3.
Luke Attanasi doubled, tripled, drove in four runs and scored two for Hammonton. Gino Sere-chia singled, drew three walks and scored three runs. Mason Morano singled twice and scored a run.
Junior League baseball (from Sunday)
East Vineland, of Dis-trict 3, beat Eriel 4-0 in the sectionals at Gloucester City.
Little League 10-11 baseball (from Saturday)
Zach Graziotto went 4-for-5 and pitched the final two innings, getting out of a bases-loaded jam to end it as Linwood beat Cape May County 14-13.
Colin Cooke went 2-for-5 with a double for Linwood. Zach Matik went 3-for-4. Luke Mazur went 2-for-4 with the winning RBI. Drew DeMorat and Christian Rich each doubled, and Justin Wray tripled.
For Cape May County, Andrew Kapp went 2-for-5 and Karl Giulian 2-for-3. Giulian and Franky Edwardi each tripled.
Junior League District 16 softball (from Saturday)
Northfield defeated visiting Upper Township 14 - 1 to win the District 16 championship.
Shannon Murphy singled and drove in three runs. Margaret Hoover singled and drove in one. Danielle Allen had two RBIs. Bree Searle pitched four innings, giving up one hit, and Mindy Parson closed the game by allowing one hit in one inning.
For Upper, Dakota Hitchner doubled and Ally Shiffler singled. Caroline Franks made an impressive catch in center field that resulted in a double play.
Northfield advanced to the sectional tournament, which starts Wednesday in Hammonton.
