The Buena 16-U baseball team beat Glendora 1-0 in Cherry Hill on Wednesday to advance to the Section 4 final. Evan Rodgers singled for Buena in the bottom of the seventh inning and scored the winning run on the same play due to two throwing errors. Buena's Kris Morgenweck pitched 6� innings, gave up three hits and struck out 10 before reaching the pitch limit of 95. Reliever Andrew Cartier struck out the final batter on three pitches in the top of the seventh to become the winning pitcher.
Buena, in the winners bracket, will face the winner between Glendora, Franklinville and Cherry Hill at 7 p.m. Friday at the Cherry Hill American field in a Section 4 final.
District 16 10-11 softball
Northfield 25, Cape May County 9: Rebekah Kravitz and Savanah Robertson each hit three-run doubles in the sixth inning for Northfield in the game, which was in Upper Township.
Teammate Megan Mc-Manus went 3-for-5. Winning pitcher Lauren DePlato went the six-inning distance and struck out six.
Cape May County pitchers Lorin Perednas, Kelcie Morrow and Maddie Barber combined to strike out nine.
Northfield plays Upper Township at 5:30 p.m. today in Cape May County.
