Luke Attanasi doubled, hit a grand slam and had six RBIs to lead Hammonton to a 9-0 win over Greater Wildwood in a District 16 10-11 first-round baseball game Thursday.
Ryan Barts and Bobby Esau each went 2-for-4 for Hammonton. Mike Oliveras picked up the win with nine strikeouts in four innings.
Cape May County 10, Lower Cape May 0: James Longstreet was the winning pitcher and Tori Harris earned the save.
Carl Gillian was 3-for-3 and Andrew Capp 2-for-3 for Cape May County.
Section 4 14-16 softball
Northfield 27, Winslow Township 0: The game ended after five innings due to the 10-run rule. Zoe Graziotto threw a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts in five innings and was also 4-for-5.
Jillian Bruno went 5-for-5. Maddie McGlynn went 4-for-5 including two doubles, a triple and six RBIs. Gab Guarracino went 4-for-6. Shea Scannell was 2-for-3 with two runs and four RBIs.
Northfield advances to play Pitman today.
Section 4 9-10 baseball
Northfield 13, Haddonfield 9: Joey Hoopes hit a two-out triple in the sixth inning to scored three runs and give Northfield the lead for good. Tommy Travagline was 3-for-5 with an RBI.Cole Campbell, Corey Spare, Ben Bradt and Anthony Medina each had two hits. Spare and Medina had two RBIs.
District 16 13-14 softball
Absecon 17, Upper Township 0: Absecon's Nicole Pancari and Kelsey Dewees each went 3-for-4 with a double. Samantha Nolte was 2-for-2, including a double. Bree Searle allowed one hit in five innings to earn the win.
For Upper Township, Caroline Franks singled.
