Jordan Vargas scored his 1,000th career point for host Atlantic Christian during the third quarter of a 101-43 win over Logan College, a high school from Australia, on Saturday.
Vargas, who led the Cougars with 20 points, needed 16 points entering the game to reach 1,000.
"It (reaching 1,000 points) was a great lesson for me because I've really worked hard on my game," said Vargas, 19, an Egg Harbor Township resident, on Sunday. "We're on Christmas break right now, so we're going to celebrate it Wednesday when we play Oakcrest (at Atlantic Christian). School will be back then. As soon as I score, they're going to stop the game."
Also for Atlantic Christian, Vincent Davis scored 18 points and had six assists, Austin Walker added 17 points and five steals, and Vassil Stoimenov had 16 points and 13 rebounds. Hayden Masterson scored 15 points for Logan College, which is a high school from Australia.
