Eight local high school football teams - Lacey Township, Egg Harbor Township, Hammonton, St. Augustine Prep, Holy Spirit, St. Joseph, Bridgeton and Buena Regional - have clinched playoff spots, according to unofficial power-point calculations.
Mainland Regional, the defending South Jersey Group IV champion, missed the playoffs by one point.
The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association will make playoff fields in each enrollment group official Monday. Quarterfinal games are Friday and Saturday.
The top eight teams with most power points in each group qualified. Teams earn power points based on their opponents' group size and wins.
Here are the unofficial fields (seeds in parentheses):
South Jersey Group IV
Eastern (8) at Cherokee (1)
Toms River North (5) at Williamstown (4)
Washington Township (6) at Toms River East (3)
Shawnee (7) at Egg Harbor Township (2)
Notes: EHT's home field is being renovated, so the Eagles are likely to play their playoff game Saturday at St. Augustine Prep. In the race for the final spot, Eastern had 103 points and Mainland 102.
South Jersey Group III
Winslow Township (8) at Hammonton (1)
Seneca (5) at Burlington Township (4)
Pemberton (6) at Lacey Township (3)
Moorestown (7) at Timber Creek (2)
South Jersey Group II
Woodrow Wilson (8) at Delsea Regional (1)
Buena Regional (7) at West Deptford (2)
Willingboro (6) at Haddonfield (3)
Bridgeton (5) at Cinnaminson (4)
State Non-Public II
Pingry (4) at St. Joseph (1)
Morris Catholic (3) at Gloucester Catholic (2)
Note: Dwight Englewood would have qualified at 4-4. But the school did not submit the proper paperwork to the NJSIAA, so it will not participate in the playoffs.
State Non-Public III
Delbarton (8) at Pope John XXIII (1)
Bishop Eustace (5) at Immaculata (4)
Bishop Ahr (7) at St. Joseph-Montvale (2)
Holy Spirit (6) at DePaul (3)
State Non-Public IV
Red Bank Catholic (8) at Don Bosco Prep (1)
Seton Hall Prep (5) at Paul VI (4)
St. Peter's Prep (6) at St. Augustine Prep (3)
Bergen Catholic (7) at Notre Dame (2)
Note: St. Augustine and Paul VI were tied on power points and strength of schedule. St. Augustine got the higher seed because its opponents had a better winning percentage than Paul VI's.
