The Barnegat High School football team made history with a 63-0 win over Pinelands Regional on Thursday.

The Bengals clinched the B South title for their first Shore Conference championship. Barnegat also won a school-record seventh game in one season. David Smithman rushed for 170 yards and four touchdowns for Barnegat. Bengals quarterback Mark McCoy threw two touchdown passes and Pat Moran returned an interception for a score.

Barnegat took control immediately, scoring 35 points in the first quarter. Barnegat finished the season 7-4, while Pinelands ended 0-10. Barnegat leads the series 4-2.
