Southern Regional High School running back Bill Shimko ran for 124 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Rams to a 34-3 win over visiting Toms River South in a Shore Conference football game Saturday.
Shimko was the winner of the annual Larry Dunfee Memorial Award as Southern's top player at its homecoming game. Dunfee was a former Southern player who was killed in the line of duty as a Stafford Township police officer.
Southern's T.J. Bellissimo ran for 48 yards and a touchdown. Rams linebacker Jackman Bush intercepted a pass and returned it 41 yards for a score. Southern's other touchdown was on a 1-yard run by Curtis Michael. Kicker Ryan North made four of five extra points.
Quarterback Eric Sullivan ran for 65 yards and completed 4-of-8 passes for 37 yards.
It was Southern's first game with Toms River South since 1999. The Shore Conference realigned this season.

Sawyer Brown threw three touchdown passes as the visiting Chiefs won for the first time this season.
Buena running back Michael Haygood had touchdown runs of 64 and 99 yards. Tyler Parent, R.J. May and Phil Guilford each cuaght a touchdown pass. Brown also kicked five extra points.
Buena linebacker Nick DeFeo had an interception. Middle linebacker Terrance Toney had 10 tackles.
