The Cumberland Regional High School football team was no match for Delsea on Saturday.

Delsea, No. 2 in the The Press' Elite 11, is the defending South Jersey Group II champion. The Crusaders put 28 points up against the Colts in first half en route to a 35-0 shutout.

Cumberland coach Tom Lake said Saturday that he was proud his team battled right until the end.

"(Freshman quarterback Steven Garron) showed a great deal of poise and completed lots of passes," Lake said.

Delsea's Austin Medley and Sean McPherson combined for 33 carries, 321 yards and five touchdowns.

"(Delsea) is big, strong, fast, disciplined and well-coached," Lake said.
