Southern Regional High School quarterback Dan Higgins set a school record and led the Rams to victory as they renewed their Thanksgiving Day rivalry with Central Regional on Thursday morning.

Higgins threw four touchdown passes as the Rams beat Central Regional 35-0. Southern (8-2) is ranked No. 8 in The Press Elite 11.

Higgins completed 16-of-19 passes for 216 yards. He now holds the Southern single-season passing record of 1,509 yards, having broken the mark of 1,352 set by Mike Balak in 2009.

Mike Gesicki caught two of Higgins' touchdown passes. Gesicki now has eight touchdown catches this season.

Defensive back Logan Sheehan sparked the Southern defense with his sixth interception of the season.

Thursday's game was the first time Southern and Central had played on Thanksgiving since 1983. The schools last met in 2005. Central leads the series 21-18-1.

Southern has won its last five games and scored at least 30 points in each of its last three. The Rams will play at Eastern (7-3) in a South Jersey Group V semifinal on Nov. 30.
