STAFFORD TOWNSHIP - Dan Higgins threw for 232 of his 255 yards in the first half, and Southern Regional High School beat Toms River East 41-20 in a Shore Conference football game Saturday afternoon.
Higgins threw three first-half touchdown passes - two to Mike Gesicki and one to Abe Gonzalez. Gonzalez also ran for a score.
Gesicki caught three passes for 94 yards.
The Rams already had clinched a South Jersey Group V playoff berth. But they had not played in two weeks due to Hurricane Sandy. The school will not reopen until Monday.
