St. Joseph High School quarterback Darryl Smith passed for three first-half touchdowns to lead the host Wildcats to a 55-0 win over Middle Township in a Cape-Atlantic League United Division football game Saturday.

The Wildcats, 2-0 overall and in the division, are ranked fifth in The Press Elite 11.

Smith's 35-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Max Valles opened the scoring with 7 minutes, 54 seconds left in the first quarter, and kicker Todd Bockarie added the first of seven extra points on the day. Smith also threw a 40-yard pass to running back Kaheem Reynolds for the Wildcats' third touchdown in the final minute of the first quarter. Wide receiver Phillip Paulhill caught a 21-yard pass from Smith for the first of St. Joseph's three second-quarter touchdowns.

St. Joseph running back Gordon Hill scored on touchdown runs of 67 and 57 yards, and Reynolds added a 26-yard run for a touchdown. The score was 41-0 at halftime, and Anthony Giagunto scored the Wildcats' two touchdowns in the second half.
