From Press staff reports

Two notable injuries occurred during Friday night's football games.

Barnegat tight end and linebacker Jarrett Darmstatter suffered a left elbow injury while Buena Regional quarterback Donetae McKinnon suffered a high ankle sprain.

Darmstatter injured his left elbow in the third quarter when he was tackled after catching a pass.

Barnegat coach Rob Davis was unsure of Darmstatter's status as of Saturday night.

"He's out for a little bit. I don't know how many weeks and all that stuff," Davis said. "Jarrett's a tough kid. Whenever he can get in, he'll get in."

McKinnon came out in the third quarter of Buena's 26-13 loss to Bridgeton

According to Chiefs' coach Paul Callahan, Buena's trainers looked at McKinnon on Saturday morning and ruled his injury as a high ankle sprain.

Callahan also said that McKinnon's ankle is already showing progress and the trainers are going to re-evaluate him Monday and decide if further medical attention is necessary.
