This game figures to be a matchup of teams with different strengths.
Hammonton traditionally features a strong running game and this season is no different.
Meanwhile, Moorestown relies on the pass. Quarterback Andrew Lisa, who has thrown for more than 2,000 yards, is headed to the University of Pennsylvania.
But Hammonton features its best passing game in years with quarterback Christian Mortellite, who has completed nearly 70 percent of his passes and thrown for 10 touchdowns.
Moorestown comes off an impressive quarterfinal performance, beating Oakcrest 34-7 as Lisa threw for 255 yards and two touchdowns last Friday.
Hammonton struggled in its 24-10 quarterfinal win over Kingsway Regional. The Blue Devils scored twice in the final nine minutes to pull away.
Hammonton is No. 7 in The Press Elite 11. With a win tonight, the Blue Devils will reach the Group III final for the third time in four years. Hammonton won the title in 2009.
Key players for Moorestown: Andrew Lisa, QB, 159-of-240 for 2,048 yards and 14 touchdowns; Delaney Wallace, RB, 97 carries for 462 yards and 34 catches for 293 yards; Zac Frantz, WR/RB, 42 catches for 570 yards; Brent Ogle, LB, 75 tackles; Drew Pederson, TE/S, seven interceptions.
Key players for Hammonton: Dave Williams, FB, 145 carries for 810 yards and 11 touchdowns; Russ Forchion, RB, 64 carries for 436 yards and seven touchdowns; Christian Mortellite (above), QB, 58-of-83 for 870 yards and 10 touchdowns; Bobby Barbieri, WR/DB, 23 catches for 322 yards and five touchdowns; Nate Haden, OL/DL.
Keys to victory: Hammonton needs to slow Moorestown's passing game. The easiest way to do that is control the ball and the clock with a powerful ground game and timely passes from Mortellite.
