The winner of tonight's Cape-Atlantic League American Conference game between Absegami and Millville will leave the field 3-1 and a South Jersey Group V playoff contender.

The loser will be .500 and left scrambling for the postseason with several tough games ahead.

Absegami and Millville kickoff at 7 p.m. at Millville's Wheaton Field. Here is a preview of that game and the weekend's other contests.

Cape-Atlantic League

American Conference

Absegami (2-1) at Millville (2-1)

7 p.m. today: Both teams have lost to No. 1 ranked St. Joseph. Absegami comes off a 14-7 overtime win over Mainland Regional as quarterback Mike Dolan scored the winning touchdown on a 1-yard run. Millville quarterback Rashon Sorrell is one of the region's most accurate passers, completing 30-of-50 passes for 468 yards and five touchdowns.

Atlantic City (1-1) at Oakcrest (0-3)

7 p.m. today (94.3 FM): Atlantic City was off last week. The Vikings rely on dynamic skill-position players in quarterback Jarren McBride (15-of-25 for 360 yards and two touchdowns) and wide receiver Dayshawn Reynolds (six catches for 212 yards and two touchdowns). Oakcrest lost to Cedar Creek 21-7 last Saturday.

Mainland Regional (1-2)

at Holy Spirit (0-2)

7 p.m. today (97.3 FM): This is one of the region's most intense rivalries. Mainland hasn't beaten Spirit since 2008. Holy Spirit comes off two tough defeats - a 22-20 overtime loss to Hammonton and a 7-0 loss to St. Joe. Spirit was off last week but its quarterback C.J. LaFragola transferred to St. Joe. Mainland has dropped two straight after a season-opening win over Pleasantville. Colin O'Shea has rushed for two touchdowns for the Mustangs.

Egg Harbor Township (2-1)

at St. Joseph (3-0)

Noon Saturday: St. Joe is No. 1 in The Press Elite11 and has won 21 straight. Wildcats quarterback Anthony Giagunto has thrown for three touchdowns and run for three more. EHT upset Hammonton 31-28 last Friday when Tim Mason kicked a 40-yard field goal with four seconds left. EHT quarterback Kenny Doughty has rushed for three touchdowns and thrown for two scores.

National Conference

St. Augustine Prep (3-0)

at Ocean City (0-3)

7 p.m. today (98.7 FM): St. Augustine has outscored its opponents 132-21. Quarterback Alex Hughes has completed 27-of-43 passes for 437 yards and three touchdowns. Ocean City relies on the running of Frank Woolley (68 carries for 311 yards and four touchdowns).

Pleasantville (0-3)

at Lower Cape May Regional (0-3)

7 p.m., today: Pleasantville is seeking its first win since it beat Lower Cape May 42-28 on Nov. 7, 2009. Jackson Sole scored Lower's touchdown in last Friday's 34-6 loss to Buena Regional.

Vineland (1-2)

at Middle Township (1-2)

7 p.m. today: Nigel Case (16 carries for 211 yards this season) ran for two touchdowns as Middle defeated Pleasantville 42-8 last Friday. Vineland has struggled on offense, scoring a single touchdown in both its defeats. Fighting Clan running back Isaiah Spencer has scored four touchdowns but he injured his hand on the opening kickoff of last week's 48-6 loss to St. Augustine and did not play the rest of the game.

Interconference

Hammonton (2-1) at Bridgeton (2-1)

7 p.m. today: Hammonton coach Pete Lancetta tries to become just the fourth local coach to win 200 career games. Lancetta is 199-53-2 since becoming the Blue Devils coach in 1989. EHT upset Hammonton (No. 9 in the Elite 11) 31-28 last Friday. Bridgeton running back Stefon Bowman has rushed 51 times for 325 yards and three touchdowns.

Shore Conference

Barnegat (1-2)

at Jackson Liberty (3-0)

7 p.m. today: Linebacker Chris Stoma sparks the Barnegat defense with 32 tackles and a sack. Bengals running back Aaron Opre has rushed for 314 yards and two touchdowns. Jackson has allowed just 18 points this season.

Southern Regional (2-1)

at Brick Township (0-3)

7 p.m. today: Southern will try to rebound from last week's 17-14 loss to Toms River North. Southern linebacker Nick Munafo has 20 tackles, while Rams defensive back Mike Gesicki has picked off two passes.

Central Regional (1-2)

at Pinelands Regional (0-3)

7 p.m. today: Pinelands lost to Lakewood 49-14 last Friday. Central has dropped two straight.

Toms River South (1-2)

at Lacey Township (3-0)

1 p.m. Saturday: Lacey is No. 4 in the Elite 11. Lacey running back Kyle Spatz has 38 caries for 378 yards and four touchdowns. Lions quarterback Tom Kelly has completed 24-of-33 for 459 yards and five touchdowns.

Football League

Clearview Regional (2-1)

at Cumberland Regional (1-2)

7 p.m. today: De'Han Milledge ran for 105 yards and two touchdowns as Cumberland upset Bishop Eustace 13-7 last Friday. Milledge has rushed 52 times for 315 yards on the season. Clearview has wins over Winslow Township (29-7) and Pennsauken (27-14)

Wildwood (2-1)

at Maple Shade (3-0)

6 p.m. today: Running back and linebacker Wesley Hills leads Wildwood with 610 rushing yards, 19 tackles and 31/2 sacks.
