Rowan University football running back Matt Dortch ran for 139 yards and two touchdowns as the Profs beat host Western Connecticut State University 30-24 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game on Saturday.

Rowan quarterback Louie Bianchini completed 18-of-27 passes for 163 yards.

Also for Rowan (3-1 overall and 2-0 NJAC), running back Keith Corcoran (St. Joseph) ran for 52 yards on 14 carries. Wide receiver Anthony Barone (Hammonton) had three catches for 26 yards.

On defense, linebacker Patrick Ruley (Atlantic City) had seven tackles. DL Chris Popper (Holy Spirit) had five tackles. Defensive back Steve Fortune (Bridgeton) had an interception and a pass breakup. Defensive backs Kurt Kingett (St. Augustine Prep) and Casey Dillon (Mainland Regional) each had three tackles.

Villanova 24, Pennsylvania 8: In Philadelphia, John Robertson passed for one touchdown and ran for another as Villanova defeated Pennsylvania - its 12th consecutive victory over the Quakers.

The redshirt freshman was 13-of-20 for 213 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown to Norman White (St. Joseph) to open the scoring. That followed passes of 38 and 32 yards to Joe Price.

Villanova (3-1) led 10-0 at halftime, and Robertson's 26-yard run on third-and-4 with 5:43 left in the third quarter made it 17-0.

DT Antoine Lewis (Mainland Regional) had four tackles, including one for a loss Safety Joe Sarnese had four tackles. For Penn, DE Anthony Stroffolino (Southern Regional) had two tackles.

Kevin Monangai rushed for 109 yards on 17 carries for the Wildcats, including a 14-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Villanova rushed for 225 yards and has surpassed 200 in all its games this season.

Penn (0-2) got on the scoreboard with 3:14 left on a 5-yard pass from Andrew Holland to Conner Scott.

Billy Ragone, Penn's starting quarterback, passed for 40 yards and ran for 6, giving him 4,006 career yards total offense.

Monmouth 27, Sacred Heart 14: In West Long Branch, Kyle Frazier threw for 313 yards and two touchdowns to Tristan Roberts and Monmouth defeated winless Sacred Heart in Northeast Conference play.

Tied at 14 at halftime, the Hawks (3-1, 2-0) scored on a 37-yard field goal by Eric Spillane and a 4-yard pass from Frazier to Roberts in the third quarter while holding the Pioneers (0-3, 0-1) to 7 yards total offense.

Monmouth added a 32-yard field goal with 10:03 remaining. Sacred Heart then drove to the Hawks 23, but Tim Little was intercepted by Pat Gray. After a Monmouth possession lasting nearly 7 minutes, the Pioneers blocked Spillane's 30-yard attempt with 1:26 left.

Sacred Heart got to the Hawks 22 before running out of downs.

A bizarre play ended the first half. Little was intercepted at the goal line by Gray, who fumbled. Tyler Dube recovered for a Pioneers touchdown, tying it as time expired.
