Why this game is important: This contest is dubbed "The Anchor Bowl." The winner gets a plaque created in 1996 that features an anchor taken from a boat owned by the father of former Lower Cape May Regional coach Bill Garrison. Lower won 30-6 last year. Middle leads the series 8-7 since it became known as The Anchor Bowl.

Middle Township update: The Panthers come off their best effort of the season - a 50-0 win over Pinelands Regional in a Nov. 11 consolation game. Middle running back Nigel Case scored three touchdowns in the win.

Lower Cape May Regional update: The Caper Tigers feature one of the Cape-Atlantic League's most underrated players in wide receiver Vance Matthews. The 6-foot-4 senior has caught six touchdown passes and returned two punts for scores. A victory today would allow the Caper Tigers to finish the season with back-to-back non-losing seasons.
