Sophomore kicker Jim Cooper cleared a 35-yard field goal in overtime to give Mainland Regional the win.

The CAL interdivision game started Thursday night but was postponed after the opening series due to lightning. It was resumed Friday from the point of interruption.

Quarterback Chris Jablonski put St. Augustine on the board with a 1-yard touchdown carry in the second quarter. Chris Gough kicked the extra point.

Sophomore Colin O'Shea, a 6-foot, 176-pound running back, evened the score for the Mustangs in the fourth quarter when he scored on a 3-yard carry. Cooper kicked the extra point to send the game into overtime.

The Mainland defense intercepted three passes and recovered one fumble.

Senior running back John Barillo had 80 rushing yards for the Hermits.
