Middle Township High School quarterback Nolan Quinn broke Ed Byrnes Jr.'s record for Cape-Atlantic League career passing yards, as he reached 4,828 yards in the Panthers' 40-12 loss to Pennsville on Friday.

The previous record by Byrnes Jr., a 1997 Holy Spirit graduate, was 4,770 yards.

Quinn was 12-of-26 for 184 yards and a touchdown, and had 87 rushing yards on 12 carries. Quinn hit Charles Cooper for a 16-yard, second-quarter score, which cut Pennsville's lead to 13-6. After Cooper scored from 2 yards out in the third quarter, Pennsville responded with 20 straight points.
