Hammonton started the scoring less than a minute into the game when Russell Forchion caught a 36-yard pass from Christian Mortellite. Forchion scored his second touchdown of the game with a 46-yard punt return to give the Blue Devils a 17-0 lead to end the first quarter.

Hammonton, the No. 4 team in the Elite 11, improved to 5-0. Coach Pete Lancetta is now 6-0 in his career against Ocean City.

Mortellite, who threw for 167 yards, connected for three touchdown passes, including a 57-yarder to Dom Williams and a 49-yard TD to Bob Barbieri.

Alex Padovani was 5-for-6 in extra points. Ocean City's defense prevented him from a perfect game with a block in the third quarter after David Williams scored on a 40-yard run.

Ocean City quarterback Chris Gabor recorded his seventh passing touchdown of the season when he found Matt Locotus in the red zone early in the fourth quarter. Gabor, who was 5-for-6 with 43 yards, also ran for a touchdown. It was his second of the year. Red Raider running back Ben Bethea had 12 carries for 66 yards.
