Southern quarterback Dan Higgins completed 6-of-11 passes for 72 yards and two touchdowns. Mike Gesicki caught three passes for 26 yards, recovered a fumble for a touchdown and had an interception for the Rams. Abe Gonzalez rushed for 62 yards on 18 carries.
With 2:15 remaining in the third quarter, Southern was driving on Freehold’s 10-yard line when the game was delayed due to lightning. After the 30-minute delay required by NJSIAA, the game was called a final.
