Buena Regional faces a formidable foe tonight.

West Deptford is the No. 2 seed in the playoffs and No. 9 in The Press' Elite 11. The Eagles are a perennial power, winning the South Jersey Group II title from 2002-04 and 2007. They beat Buena 39-21 in last year's South Jersey Group II semifinals. West Deptford also beat Buena in the 2002 Group II title game.

West Deptford has won by an average margin of 42.3 points this season. Running backs Jimmy Owens and Vaughn Scott lead an offense that averages 48.3 points per game.

Meanwhile, Buena is a young team led by junior quarterback Donetae McKinnon. The Chiefs have lost their last two games.

Seventh-seeded Buena Regional (4-4) vs. second-seeded West Deptford (8-0)

What: South Jersey Group II quarterfinal

When/where: 7 p.m. today at West Deptford

What's next: Winner advances to next weekend's semifinal against the winner of tonight's quarterfinal between sixth-seeded Willingboro and third-seeded Haddonfield.

Key players

Buena Regional: Donetae McKinnon, QB, 15-of-36 for 181 yards, 110 carries for 713 yards and nine touchdowns; Michael Haygood, RB, 93 carries for 615 yards; Tyler Hillgrube, WR/DB, 11 catches for 207 yards, 60 tackles; Josh Nuneville, LB, 91 tackles.

West Deptford: Jimmy Owens, RB; Ken Tamasitis, LB/RB; Vaughn Scott, RB; Jake Hannan, QB.

Keys to victory: Buena is an underdog. The Chiefs need to run the ball effectively and keep West Deptford's offense off the field. This is a chance for Buena to gain valuable experience for the future against one of southern New Jersey's top teams.
