Why this game is special: This is the area's only intra-district rivalry. Both schools are members of the Greater Egg Harbor School District. When Absegami first opened and was waiting for its building to be finished, it shared the same building and facilities with Oakcrest.

The teams play for the Joe Mohr trophy. The late Mohr was the longtime athletic director at Oakcrest and also was athletic director of the now defunct Egg Harbor City High School. Oakcrest hasn't beaten Absegami since a 14-0 win in 2002.

Absegami update: The Braves made the South Jersey Group IV playoffs but lost in the first round to undefeated Cherokee 35-14. Quarterback Rashad Kinlaw ran for 94 yards and two touchdowns in the defeat. Running back Ben Martin is headed to Rutgers University.

Oakcrest update: The Falcons are in the midst of one of the best seasons in school history. Oakcrest is No. 9 in The Press Elite 11 and will play Cherokee for the South Jersey Group IV championship on Saturday, Dec. 4. This is Oakcrest's first winning season since 1998. Joe Sprigg sparks the Falcons with 586 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.
