Why this game is special: This is Atlantic County's oldest rivalry. The teams first played in 1926. Spirit has won five straight and six of the last seven games. The Spartans beat Atlantic City 27-6 last season. The teams play for the Boyd-Marczyk trophy, which is named after deceased coaches John Boyd of Atlantic City and Stan Marczyk of Holy Spirit.

Atlantic City update: The Vikings are No. 10 in The Press Elite 11. Atlantic City qualified for the South Jersey Group IV playoffs and beat Millville 32-24 on the first round on Nov. 12.

Atlantic City lost to Oakcrest 31-14 in last Friday's semifinals. Vikings quarterback Jamal Anderson has thrown for 1,369 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Holy Spirit update: The Spartans are No. 1 in The Press Elite 11 and will play St. Joseph Montvale for the state Non-Public III title on Dec. 3 at Rutgers University. Spirit beat Pope John XXIII 34-27 in last Friday's semifinals.

Joe Sarnese caught the winning touchdown with 25 seconds left. Spirit features a powerful running game with Donta Pollock (220 carries for 1,538 yards and 25 touchdowns) and Nigel Jones (99 carries for 711 yards and eight touchdowns).
