Wildwood High School running back Wesley Hills scored eight touchdowns as the Warriors beat previously undefeated Maple Shade 61-34 in a West Jersey Football League game Friday night in Maple Shade Township.

Hills had 452 yards on 18 carries and seven rushing touchdowns. He also had a 37-yard touchdown catch.

Hills scored all but one of Wildwood’s touchdowns and averaged more than 25 yards per carry.

“It feels great,” Hills said. “It’s a great accomplishment, but I couldn’t have done it without my line. We all have such a great chemistry.”

Quarterback Devon Bradshaw completed a 57-yard pass to Marchal Howell for a Wildwood touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Maple Shade scored first with a 6-yard run from Tyler Nicolo, but missed the extra point.

The Warriors quickly answered on their next possession with a 33-yard run from Hills to tie the game at 6-6.

Hills went on to score two more touchdowns, including an 80-yard run, in the first quarter and one touchdown in the second. He also had a 81-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter.

“He’s a pleasure to watch,” Wildwood coach Rich Hans said. “You give him the ball and he has run it in for a touchdown almost everytime this season. They’re making my job really easy. He makes the line look good and the line makes him look good. We’re all playing really good together and having a lot of fun.”

Wildwood improved to 3-1 on the season.

Nicolo had 114 yards on 20 carries for three rushing touchdowns for Maple Shade. Steve Strobel threw two touchdown passes to receiver Kevin Williams.
