Hammonton High School graduate Tom Pangia and Atlantic City High
School graduate Patrick Ruley will play Sunday in the third annual
National Bowl Game, an all-star college football game featuring 80
seniors from all three NCAA divisions.
Why this game is special: These two programs are among the state's best. The schools are located in the same town a few miles from each other. But the rivalry could becoming to and end. Hammonton will join the West Jersey Football League in 2014. It is not clear if the rest of the Cape-Atlantic League teams, including St. Joe, will follow. The game may not be feasible to schedule if the two schools are in different leagues.
Rowan University football running back Matt Dortch ran for 139 yards and two touchdowns as the Profs beat host Western Connecticut State University 30-24 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game on Saturday.
HAMMONTON - The St. Joseph High School football team had three
weeks between games. Some observers might have thought the layoff
would hurt the Wildcats, but they needed just two plays before they
alleviated any fears.
WASHINGTON — The U.S. economy added 175,000 jobs in May — a steady pace that shows strength in the face of tax increases and government spending cuts if not enough to reduce still-high unemployment.
