D'Arcy finished second in the state at 113 pounds after losing to Bergen Catholic's Nick Suriano 7-0 in championship.

D'Arcy turned in a solid effort to reach the semifinals with a 6-3 decision over Hanover Park's Lou Raimo. D'Arcy was the aggressor from the opening whistle and was rewarded with three takedowns.

D'Arcy earned a spot in today's championship round with a 3-2 decision over Robbinsville's Christopher Tann. D'Arcy earned the only takedown of the bout in the first period and added an escape in the second to take a 3-1 lead. Tanner had an escape midway through the third period, but D'Arcy held on for the win.


D'Arcy, who finished third in the state last year, reached the quarterfinals by rallying for a 5-1 win over Avery Shay of Don Bosco Prep. D'Arcy trailed 1-0 before taking a 2-1 lead on a takedown with :58 left in regulation, then turned Shay for a three-point fall in the final 15 seconds.

D’Arcy’s road to Atlantic City: Won his third District 32 title and then won his first Region 8 title.

Back points: D’Arcy finished third in the state at 106 pounds last season and is one of the Cape-Atlantic League’s top hopes for a state champ. D’Arcy could have a pair of rematches in the first two rounds. He will likely face Don Bosco Prep’s Avery Shay in today’s pre-quarterfinals and could meet Hanover Park’s Lou Raimo in the quarters. D’Arcy won a 2-0 decision against Shay and a 2-1 decision against Raimo in the prestigious Beast of the East tournament earlier this season.
