Jarred Hodges held Cliffside Park's Matthew Joskowitz to a 1-1 tie early into the third period. Hodges eventually got ridden out and lost a 3-2 decision in triple overtime.

Back points: Hodges has his work cut out for him. If he gets past Cliffside Park’s Matt Joshowitz in the prelims, he would face unbeaten defending state champ Scott DelVecchio (40-0) of South Plainfield in the prequarters.
