The Tuckahoe River Bridge will be closed overnight through Thursday, detouring drivers off Route 50, state Department of Transportation officials said.
From 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Route 50 will be closed between Mosquito Landing Road and Route 49 for installation of bridge girders by South State Inc. Detours will be posted on both Route 50 northbound and southbound.
After years of downgrades, Atlantic City’s credit got a boost thanks to the state takeover.
Drivers traveling on Route 50 northbound:
Make a left onto Route 49 westbound
Bear right passing the fork with Weatherby Road
Make a right onto Route 666/Cape May Avenue
Make a right onto First Avenue and continue, merging onto Route 50 northbound

Turn left onto Route 666/Cape May Avenue
Make a left onto Route 49 eastbound
Make a right back onto Route 50 southbound
UPPER DEERFIELD — Danny Muniz was your average energetic, playful 5-year-old boy.
The construction will improve and widen the bridge connecting Upper Township in Cape May County with Corbin City in Atlantic County. The project is expected to be complete by summer.
Meanwhile, in Egg Harbor Township, the westbound lane of Old Egg Harbor Road will have a posted detour for county road work between Fire Road and Hingston Avenue. The eastbound lane will also experience periodic closings.
The detour will take effect between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for the next two weeks, weather permitting.
