EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — A Ventnor man was sent to the hospital with minor injuries after he allegedly lost control of his truck and overturned along the Black Horse Pike in the West Atlantic City section of the township on Friday, Aug. 18.

According to police, Steven Masland, 25, of Ventnor was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup truck west on the pike around 10:30 a.m. in the area of Fox Place when he lost control of the vehicle. Police said the truck crossed over the eastbound lanes, left the roadway and struck a utility pole and a fire hydrant before overturning and coming to rest in the eastbound shoulder.

Masland suffered minor injuries, was treated at the scene by the Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad and was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Campus. The West Atlantic City Volunteer Fire Company assisted at the scene of the crash.

Traffic was detoured for approximately two hours while the crash was being investigated and cleared. The crash is being investigated by Officer Kevin Devlin of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.
