Press reports

Children spend a lot of time running, playing and dancing. If all that expended energy was linked together it would stretch for miles - perhaps even as far as 26.2 miles.

With that in mind, the Atlantic City Marathon Race Series is launching the Kids Fit Final Mile during this fall's race.

From now until race day, Oct. 20, children can track their activity on a Miles Map until they reach 25.2 miles. Then they can finish their last mile on the Atlantic City Boardwalk during the annual marathon. All Final Mile runners will receive a T-shirt and a medal for the accomplishment of running a marathon.

Registration fee is $15, which will support Court Appointed Child Advocates of Atlantic and Cape May counties. Schools wishing to enter teams in the challenge should call 609-822-1167, ext. 118. Schools with the largest number of participants will be eligible for prizes and awards.
