“Life is March weather, savage and serene in one hour.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

March is one of the most unpredictable months of the year, weather-wise. For those days when the sky can’t make up its mind whether it wants to be gray or blue, get indoors for some active ways to rise above the remaining wintry weather before spring is finally here.

1. Jump sessions

Spring your way through to the warmer season at Get Air, South Jersey’s only indoor trampoline park, which opened in November. You’ll feel as if you’re flying while jumping on their dozens of floor-level trampolines. The site has numerous attractions, including a Ninja course, dodge ball, foam pits for doing tricks and flips, a Kiddie Court and much more. Parents can even chill in massage chairs while the kids are jumping. Daily jump sessions are $16 for one hour or $25 for two hours. For those under 46 inches, prices are $9 for an hour or $16 for two hours. Jump socks are $3 and are required, but once you purchase a pair you can bring them back with you next time you come. 4403 Black Horse Pike, Mays Landing. Go to

2. Rock wall climbing

Ascend your way above the clouds and overcast skies while indoor rock climbing with two locations to choose from. PLAAY Fitness and Yoga in Ocean City has a rock climbing wall with both top rope climbing, auto belay and bouldering. Cost is $25 for adults, $20 for students, and $15 for kids ages 10 and younger. Advance registration is required. 910 Asbury Ave., Ocean City; 609-840-6671 or Katz JCC in Margate also has a rock climbing wall available with advance reservations. A 30-minute session is $45 and a 60-minute session is $70. The Katz JCC is located at 501 North Jerome Ave. 609-822-1167 or

3. Aerial yoga

An aerial yoga class combines traditional yoga moves with aerial arts. Yogis will elevate themselves by using silk hammocks as props while improving flexibility, strength and balance. Aerial barre classes are available too. Pricing differs by class. Forza Fitness, 3514 Landis Ave., Sea Isle City. Go to

4. Zipline

Reopening Saturday, March 24, Tree to Tree Adventure Park, located at the Cape May County Zoo, will help you glide through any remaining crummy March weather with its zipline course. Zip your way through the air at 55 feet, or climb and swing your way through various obstacles in the Adventure Course. $50 admission includes both the zipline and adventure course, $35 for just the zipline. There are also options for younger ages. The zoo is located at 707 Route 9 North, Cape May Court House. Call 609-388-8289 or go to
