The latest in a series of summer beach concerts in Atlantic City was just announced.

Rapper DMX will join Ja Rule, Ashanti, Fat Joe, The Lox and Drag-On for what is being billed as "Ruff Ryders and Friends." The concert is set to take place Thursday, Aug. 3, on the beach in Atlantic City and is part of a three-year, $6 million deal with the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority that requires Live Nation to bring a minimum of six beach concerts or large scale events to Atlantic City over the next two summers.

The show will help continue the theme of musical diversity for the summer, as the previously announced beach concerts by P!nk (July 12) and Brantley Gilbert (July 13) fall into the categories of pop and country.

“The Ruff Ryders and Friends tour presents yet another exciting entertainment opportunity for Atlantic City’s residents and visitors,” said CRDA Executive Director Chris Howard. “We are looking forward to a great summer season.”

Howard had recently mentioned that the CRDA had planned to bring musical diversity to Atlantic City throughout the summer.

“I’m glad that once again Atlantic City offers a diverse lineup of summer beach concerts,” Mayor Don Guardian said in the concert’s press release.
