The NAMI Family to Family Education Course is a beacon of hope for loved ones of individuals with serious and persistent mental illness.  The curriculum is designed to empower participants.

Separate fact from fiction about mental illness;  learn that stigma has no place in our society.  Discover effective communication methods when your loved one is in crisis.  Determine how to love yourself and focus on how other family members feel as well.  Your ill family member will respond positively to your decreased stress and help rebuild your relationship as a result.

Become your loved ones' natural advocate in identifying and accessing appropriate treatment and rehabilitation resources.  Learn the language of mental health and law enforcement professionals for better results.   Feel the empowerment of connecting with others.  No longer will you feel the shame and guilt of hiding your loved ones' illness.
