If not for a relocation coming next year for Evan Horn, he would hold onto his residence at 10 N. Adams Ave. in Margate that his family has enjoyed for the past five summers.

“All I know is, I walked in. I loved it and bought it,” Horn said about the home he has had since 2014.

Horn’s favorite room in his approximately 1,400-square-foot, end-unit condo is his living room with his TV and sofa because that is where he spends most of his time with his wife and four children, ages 23, 17, 16 and 9.

“There is a lot of time (spent) hanging around the kitchen table,” said Horn, who added the kitchen is connected to the living room.

Horn’s fondest memories of living on North Adams Avenue revolve around his children growing up in the home. The baby of the family was 4 years old when he purchased it.

Everything is within walking distance in the neighborhood where Horn’s home is located.

“You park your car on a Friday, and if you leave on Sunday night or a Monday, whenever you want to leave, you never really have to move your car,” said Horn, 48. “When you walk up and down the street, all you see is a lot of families.”

The two-story condo featuring two bedrooms and 2½ bathrooms can accommodate any type of family, Horn said.

“For a young married couple that’s not having kids yet but is planning on having kids, it’s a perfect location. For a family that has a lot of kids, it’s a great location. For retired people, it’s a great location,” Horn said.

The unit is heated by natural gas from the baseboard. The unit is cooled by fans and a brand new central air conditioning system that was installed two years ago, Horn said. The residence uses public water and sewer. Pets are allowed.

The first floor includes a half bathroom and large living room with a slider to a cedar deck. The laundry room has cabinets for storage and a basin sink.

The kitchen, also on the first floor, offers custom cabinetry, granite countertops, gas stove, refrigerator, garbage disposal, dishwasher and a microwave.

The second floor features two master suites with full private baths and walk-in closets.

“At times, we’ve had 12 people sleep in one of the rooms. That’s how big these rooms are,” Horn said.

The fresh air of the outdoors can be experienced on the second-floor cedar deck.

There is a large patio with plenty of room for barbecuing, a basement that consists of a two-car heated garage that includes a bonus/family/recreation room and plenty of off-street parking. The house is located is steps away from Margate’s best dining and shopping and just two blocks from the beach.

Horn, who lives in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania, said 10 N. Adams Ave. is the first summer shore house he ever owned.

“It’s a great house for anybody. I have loved every minute of it, and I’m going to miss it. It’s a part of my kids’ (lives) growing up,” Horn said.
