On Nov. 1, the Quilts of Valor Foundation’s South Jersey Chapter 11255 awarded quilts to war veterans Richard Nelson (Korea), Lou Kennan (Vietnam), and Rich Nowakowski (Vietnam) at a ceremony at VFW Post 386 in Cape May.

The Quilts of Valor are awarded as tangible reminders of appreciation and gratitude to service members. Lou Kennan, who was a Navy Corpsman with the U.S. Marines, represents the 200,000th Quilt of Valor awarded by the organization. Quilts are pieced together by volunteers in every state of the Union.
