GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — Jaime Lyn Angelini, of Galloway Township, was awarded the Stockton University School of Health Sciences 2018 Leadership Award for her contributions to health care and the health sciences.

The award was presented at the Board of Trustees meeting Sept. 26 at Stockton University Atlantic City.

Angelini is director of consumer services for the Mental Health Association of New Jersey in Atlantic County. In her role, she has provided ongoing educational opportunities for students in the Stockton Occupational Therapy Program and for visiting students from the Universidad del Rosario in Colombia.

A 2003 Stockton graduate, Angelini helped facilitate support groups for Stockton students and has been a guest lecturer in health sciences and social work classes. She brought Mental Health First Aid to Stockton and provided scholarships to students who could not have attended without the support.

“For the past 15 years, she has served as a mentor, a supervisor and a role model for our students,” said Margaret Slusser, interim dean of health sciences. “She is a consummate professional and a strong advocate for those living with mental illness. She is resourceful, creative and energetic.”
