GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — A Memorial Day service will be held at 9:30 a.m. May 27 at Sgt. William R. Godfrey Memorial Park, 1731 Route 9 in Seaville.

The celebration will honor more than 50 veterans who live at the Osprey Point Condominiums, as well as some visitors and dignitaries.

Osprey Point resident and Army veteran James Joyce will host the event, and retired Special Forces Sgt. Maj. and Vietnam War veteran Joseph Berk will be the guest speaker.  

A flag memorializing Marine veteran and Osprey Point resident Nicholas A. Giampetro will be presented to the community. Commanders Michael Venzie of VFW Post 8695 and John Olansen of American Legion Post 239 will lead the flag salute. Other participating groups are the Marmora Boy Scout Troop 95 Color Guard and the American Legion and VFW Rifle Squad.

In the event of inclement weather, the service will be moved to the Osprey Point Clubhouse.
