Linwood remains Republican stronghold

City Council

Republicans return to City Council in all three races. Eric Ford outlasted his Democratic challenger Michael Sommers 635-442 in Ward 1. Darren Matick was unopposed for the at-large seat and netted 1,517 votes toward his re-election. And in Ward 2, Ralph Paolone was also unopposed and received 422 votes.

Linwood Board of Education

There were four candidates for three open seats in only the second time voters here had a chance to choose their school board members since changing from a Type I to a Type II school district in 2016.

Kathleen “Casey” Lowry was the top vote-getter with 1,080 votes, Alexa D’Amato Barrera was close behind with 1,047 and the third board spot went to Jason Goldstein, who bested Matthew Simpson in a close vote of 920-915.
