LINWOOD — Hordes of witches, goblins and ghosts along with super heroes, ballerinas, cute cows and many more characters made their way to Mainland Regional High School on Tuesday for the second annual Haunted Hallway event.
Organizer Dena Eckstrom, a special education teacher at Mainland, said the Mainland Regional Education Association organized the family-friendly event the night before Halloween and invited the community to enjoy some hometown fun with games, face painting, bounce houses and, of course, candy.
The event was open to everyone, but they were asked to pre-register. While several hundred registered, the crowd throughout the evening topped the 500 mark.
Eckstrom said they were able to sponsor the Haunted Hallway event through a Pride grant from the NJEA.
“We wanted to put together an event where the entire community felt welcome,” Eckstrom said.
