LINWOOD — The Exchange at 2010 New Road is a gathering place for taste buds of all kinds with its concept of having different restaurants under one roof along with the Ex Bar, but developers and owners Gerald and Lorey Bird are working to create a welcoming community space that keeps evolving.

The holiday season will feature shop and dine partners where patrons can grab a drink, dinner and maybe a unique gift all in one swoop. "Our goal is to to continue to grow community spirit," said Lorey Bird. "We welcome the community and offer our space for exhibits, music, games, schools, fundraisers, meetings and just about any good idea that allows us to grow in the spirit of a safe community."

Through Dec. 22, there will be different vendors offering something special including LuLaRoe, Biana del Mar, Salty Sea Monkey, Live Boldly Caps, Nina's Unique Boutique and many others, according to Bird. The Shop and Dine Holiday Mart runs 4 to 7 p.m. each Friday through Christmas and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Kicking off in ghoulish style, Saturday, November 3 is a celebration of Dia De Lost Muertos with sugar skull face painting. For the kids, sugar skull face painting is from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. and adults from 4- 6 p.m. by local artist Heather Deegan Hires. There is a charge. Ruben Garcia will doing group photos.
