GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — Absegami High School opened its doors to the greater community Saturday, Oct. 20, for its annual open house event to showcase the academic, athletic and extracurricular programs the school has to offer.
Visitors were greeted by the marching band and enjoyed a performance by the Absegami Select Choir before moving through the building to visit classrooms and meet with administrators and teachers. Students and their families got a chance to look into the school’s homeland security magnet program and the computer programming magnet program. The science department also held STEM-Tastic Saturday, with a variety of fun, scientific activities and experiments showcased by the science department.
“The open house is a great way for us to open our doors to the community and let everyone see what a fantastic high school this is,” said Absegami Principal Jeri-Lynn Vernon. “Absegami High School has such a wonderful balance of challenging academic programs and a wide variety of athletic and extracurricular programs. The open house lets us show the special things that happen here on a daily basis.”
