The Stockton University men’s lacrosse team will be joining the Colonial States Athletic Conference effective July 1, 2018.
The team played as an independent last year after being forced out of the New York-based Skyline Conference. Stockton was member of the conference from 2000 to 2017.
Joining the Ospreys in the CSAC are fellow New Jersey schools Montclair State and Kean.
“The addition of these three competitive programs will strengthen the already formidable profile of men’s lacrosse in the CSAC,” said Adrienne Mullikin, Commissioner of the CSAC, in a news release. “Our core members are looking forward to developing new rivalries with these three programs and I am thrilled to be able to provide this quality experience for our student-athletes.”
The three institutions, which are core members of the New Jersey Athletic Conference, will join Bryn Athyn College, Centenary University, Keystone College and Rosemont College as participating members in men’s lacrosse.
“We are very excited to join the CSAC next season,” Stockton coach Kevin Zulauf said in the release. “We are grateful that the CSAC accepted us and we look forward to the competition.”
Last season, the Ospreys played an independent schedule and went 12-4. They ended the season with a 14-12 win over Muhlenberg to win the Eastern College Athletic Conference tournament.
