MAYS LANDING — From the thousands of clams and oysters shucked to thousands of dollars in scholarship money raised, the Atlantic Cape Restaurant Gala is more than a learning experience for students at the Academy of Culinary Arts.

“It’s a great networking opportunity for all the students,” said student Jozlyn Rivera, 20, of Collingswood, Camden County. “I know a few people who have gotten jobs that night.”

This is Rivera’s second year preparing food for the more than 800 people who will attend the gala March 28 at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City.
